Suicide Prevention Training for Trainers

Train-the-Trainer is offered to organizations and communities as a way to build local capacity and promote sustainability by developing trainers who are certified in the Connect model.  Having local trainers can increase participation and cultural acceptance of suicide prevention efforts.

The three-day training includes best practice protocols for specific disciplines and twenty hours of consultation by Connect staff.

Prevention/Intervention

A National Best Practice program, Connect prevention/intervention training incorporates key aspects of the National Suicide Prevention Strategy in a comprehensive training model which promotes an integrated community response to suicide prevention.

The training encourages collaboration between systems and includes specific protocols for two disciplines selected by the sponsoring entity.  A fourth day can be added for training in three more disciplines. For more information, click here.

A separate Connect Leadership Youth Training program is available for high school youth who are interested in providing suicide prevention/intervention training for their peers in conjunction with a Connect trained adult.  For more information, click here.

Postvention
